A subtle spiciness, characteristic of a higher rye content, emerges with hints of dried orange peel and a wisp of pipe tobacco. Underlying sweetness suggests butterscotch and a touch of ripe orchard fruit.

Palate: The palate is surprisingly rich for its proof, delivering a harmonious balance of sweet and spicy. Initial waves of burnt sugar and vanilla are quickly followed by a delightful rye kick, offering black pepper, nutmeg, and a hint of cinnamon. A creamy texture coats the mouth, revealing nuances of dark cherry and a pleasant nutty character, perhaps almond or hazelnut, with a subtle leathery undertone.

Finish: A medium-long finish that is warm and comforting. The spice gradually mellows into a lingering sweetness of oak and caramel, with a pleasant echo of dried fruit and a touch of roasted coffee bean.
