Tasting Notes

Nose: Rich aromas of polished antique oak, dark toffee, dusty leather, baked spiced cherries, candied orange zest, and sweet pipe tobacco.

Palate: Thick and viscous on the palate, bursting with layers of burnt caramel, vanilla bean, cinnamon stick, rustic rye spice, and deep charred wood tannins.

Finish: Exceptionally long and resonant, leaving lingering impressions of warming baking spices, dark chocolate, leathery oak, and dried stone fruit.

About the Distillery

Perched on the bluffs overlooking the Kentucky River in Lawrenceburg, the Wild Turkey distillery traces its heritage to the Ripy Brothers in 1869. Sourced and acquired by wholesale grocer Austin, Nichols & Co. in the mid-20th century, the brand achieved legendary acclaim under Master Distiller Jimmy Russell, who championed traditional low barrel entry proofs, classic high-rye mash bills, and non-chill filtered aging.
