About this bottle

Crafted exclusively for the Japanese market during the pinnacle of Jimmy Russell's golden era, this rare 8-year-old release arrives housed in a collectible wooden presentation box adorned with a bronze medallion. Bottled at a quintessential 101 proof under Heublein Japan importation, it delivers the rich, oily mouthfeel and antique funk that define legendary vintage Wild Turkey.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Aromas of dense antique oak, dark molasses, and rich brandied cherries give way to vintage leather, roasted pecans, and that unmistakable deep, dusty Wild Turkey funk.

Palate: Thick, oily, and remarkably mouth-coating; waves of caramelized brown sugar, candied orange peel, and heavy baking spices intertwine with sweet pipe tobacco and seasoned wood varnish.

Finish: Long, warm, and lingering with notes of dark baker's chocolate, clove, toasted vanilla bean, and a persistent hum of sweet, aged oak char.

About the Distillery

Perched above the Kentucky River in Lawrenceburg, Wild Turkey has been crafting quintessential Kentucky straight bourbon since the mid-20th century, shaped indelibly by legendary Master Distiller Jimmy Russell. Celebrated for using a rich, low-rye mashbill, lower distillation and barrel entry proofs, and a heavy #4 'alligator' char, the distillery achieved iconic status through bold, full-flavored pours that earned particular prestige in Japan's burgeoning collector market.
