Underlying notes of toasted oak, hints of baking spice like cinnamon and nutmeg, and a touch of roasted peanuts or a subtle nutty sweetness are present. A faint, pleasant earthy or leathery quality can sometimes be detected, adding complexity.

Palate: Full-bodied and assertive at 100 proof, the palate delivers a powerful initial wave of sweet caramel and rich vanilla, immediately followed by a robust oak spice and black pepper kick. Dried fruit notes of cherry or raisin mingle with a continued presence of corn sweetness and a warm, slightly leathery character. The Bottled in Bond strength ensures a substantial mouthfeel without being overly hot.

Finish: Long and warming, the finish echoes the palate with persistent notes of sweet vanilla and char, evolving into a pleasant, drying oak tannic grip. A lingering warmth of spice, particularly black pepper and cinnamon, coats the tongue, leaving behind a satisfying, slightly sweet and savory memory with hints of roasted nuts.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0807/1187/6915/files/main_756b0303-c05f-4e75-9768-3109b81976ec.webp?v=1791412201
https://subrosaselections.com/products/1990-barton-distilling-company-very-old-barton-kentucky-straight-bourbon-whiskey-100-proof-750ml
