Tasting Notes
Nose: Rich aromas of antique leather, toasted pecans, and polished mahogany lead the bouquet, followed by dried dark cherries, candied orange peel, dense molasses, and sweet pipe tobacco.
Palate: A viscous, chewy texture carrying notes of caramelized brown sugar, dark stone fruits, rich vanilla bean, and charred oak, balanced by Jimmy Russell's signature rye spice, clove, and dark chocolate.
Finish: Long and intensely warming, echoing with lingering baking spices, dusty barrel tannins, seasoned leather, and a faint kiss of herbal mint.
About the Distillery
Perched on the bluffs of the Kentucky River in Lawrenceburg, Wild Turkey Distillery has been crafting classic Kentucky straight bourbon since 1869. Under the legendary leadership of Master Distiller Jimmy Russell and his son Eddie Russell, the distillery is celebrated for using a high-rye mash bill, low barrel-entry proofs, and deep #4 'alligator' char barrels to yield an unmistakable, rich, and full-bodied spirit.
