PRE-ARRIVAL Bowmore 22 Year Ceramic Gulls / Moonlight 86 Proof 750ml (comes in 2–3 weeks)

The essence of Islay's rugged beauty is distilled into every drop of this exceptional 22-year-old single malt. With over two decades of patient maturation in Bowmore's legendary No. 1 Vaults, this expression offers an unparalleled depth of character, seamlessly blending elegant peat smoke with layers of tropical fruit and sea-kissed complexity.

Tasting Notes

Nose: A captivating interplay of maritime air, damp peat smoke, and ripe orchard fruits like baked apple and stewed pear, interwoven with hints of lemon zest, vanilla bean, and a faint whisper of dark chocolate. Subtle floral notes, dried herbs, and old leather emerge with time.

Palate: The entry is remarkably smooth, revealing a luxurious texture. The peat smoke is present but beautifully integrated, reminiscent of smoldering embers rather than an aggressive bonfire. Layers of tropical fruit, candied orange peel, and honeyed malt are balanced by a gentle salinity, sweet tobacco, and a whisper of dark spices like nutmeg and clove. A delicate oak influence provides structure without overpowering the fruit and smoke.

Finish: Long, warming, and profoundly satisfying. The lingering peat smoke is sweet and earthy, receding slowly to reveal notes of dark chocolate, sea salt, and a dry, oaky spice. A persistent fruitiness and a hint of medicinal iodine complete a complex and elegant conclusion.
