Tasting Notes

Nose: A magnificent burst of classic dusty Turkey funk yields layered aromas of sweet pipe tobacco, worn antique leather, stewed black cherries, molasses, and deeply charred oak seasoned with warm allspice and nutmeg.

Palate: Heavy and viscous on the tongue, delivering concentrated waves of dark chocolate, brandied cherries, candied orange zest, rich butterscotch, and roasted pecans balanced against assertive, mature oak tannins.

Finish: Exceptionally long and resonant, lingering with warm baking spices, vintage cigar leaf, dark vanilla bean, and a slow, gentle dry oak warmth.

About the Distillery

Perched above the Kentucky River in Lawrenceburg, the historic distillery operated under Austin, Nichols & Co. during what many collectors consider Wild Turkey's golden era. Guided by legendary Master Distiller Jimmy Russell, the distillery achieved iconic status through traditional high-rye mash bills, exceptionally low barrel entry proofs, and heavy #4 'alligator' char barrels, resulting in one of the most revered and robust flavor profiles in American whiskey history.
