Palate: The entry is remarkably smooth and medium-bodied, coating the palate with a rich, velvety texture. Flavors of creamy caramel and butterscotch are prominent, balanced by a gentle spiciness of cinnamon and allspice. A delightful fruitiness emerges with notes of dried pear and golden raisin. The oak influence is subtle and well-integrated, presenting as sweet wood rather than tannic bitterness. A surprising suggestion of rye spice, characteristic of some Canadian blends, provides a subtle peppery zest.
